"Torrijas" Preparation

In a pot heat up the milk with 50g of sugar and the cinnamon stick, remove from heat and pour the liquid in a deep and wide dish, place the sliced bread and let it soak so it can absorb the liquid for about 10 minutes.


Beat the eggs in a plate and dip the bread. Preheat the olive oil in a pan and fry the Torrijas evenly, remove from heat and place in paper towels to absorb the oil.


Mix the rest of the sugar with the powder cinnamon, sprinkle the Torrijas and enjoy!

  • 250 ml of milk

    8 slices of a day old white round bread  (1 cm thick baguette) 

    100 g of sugar

    2 eggs

    1 teaspoon of powder cinnamon

    1 cinnamon stick

    250 ml extra virgin olive oil
